In a typical board exam nightmare, Class 12 students of a Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) school in Kharghar said that two days before their business studies paper, the school suddenly told them there was 16 pages worth of additions to their syllabus.
Students also claimed that the board had announced the changes in October-November, and other schools had informed students about them right then.
"Some students had uploaded the new material on Facebook. We were not even informed about it in person,'' said a student, requesting anonymity. "In the paper on Wednesday, 8-10 marks of questions were asked from the supplementary material. We were unable to attempt any of these, but luckily, there were other optional questions."
The school's principal was not available for a comment despite numerous attempts to contact her. However, the school's business studies teacher admitted students were informed late about the changes. "We found out about the additions late. But only some new terms were added. We immediately informed the students.''
However, other schools had told their students of the additions in November itself. Ishaan Kapoor, a student of RN Podar School, Santacruz, confirmed his school had told them well in advance. "We knew about the changes in October and had started studying accordingly," he said.
