"Firstly we have not received a summons. And where is Ara? No one has even heard of such a place. And what property do they want to attach… lakhs of Shiv Sainiks and Marathi pride?" asked Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena legislator and executive editor of Sena mouthpiece Saamna.

The court on Monday had given an attachment order because Thackeray had failed to appear in a case lodged by advocate Rajesh Kumar Singh who had moved court for 'contempt' against Saamna in 2008.

Singh had said the content published in Saamna was malicious and had hurt the sentiments and feelings of 'crores of Biharis'.

Thackeray repeatedly failed to appear before the court, despite compliance orders, and was not represented by any lawyers either.
