Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy, who was in Mumbai on Wednesday, lashed out against Congress president Sonia Gandhi, calling her the “gangotri” (genesis) of corruption. “The opposition should make sure that they do not play her game,” said Swamy, who was addressing the media after meeting Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray at his residence, Matoshree, in Bandra.

Swamy alleged that Gandhi was indirectly using the Opposition to ouster PM Manmohan Singh. "The JPC probe into the 2G scam, which the Opposition is demanding is being instigated by Gandhi. The results will humiliate Singh, which will force him to resign, and that is what she wants," added Swamy.
Swamy hinted that this tactic of "humiliation" is being used to create inroads for Rahul Gandhi to take over the reigns.
