Speeding teen injures two at Marine Drive

Two friends, Aniruddh Sheth (23) and Khushboo Shahu (23), were injured after a teenager who was reportedly driving an Audi at high speed hit their Maruti Swift at Marine Drive early Tuesday morning.

Sheth, a resident of Kemps Corner was driving the Swift.

According to the Marine Drive police, the accident occurred around 12.35 am at Garware chowk, NS road.

“Aniruddh Jiakishan Bhagchandka (19) with his two friends and a bodyguard, Rahul Patil, was driving when his car hit a Maruti Swift head on. The Swift was taking a right turn when the mishap happened,” said Assistant Police Inspector Pratap Jadhav.

The police said that Bhagchandka was returning from Oberoi hotel after a party. Bhagchandka’s friends left the spot after the accident.

“Sheth suffered injuries on his right hand, while Shahu, who is a Pydhonie resident, got swelling in her neck. Both were admitted to the Bombay hospital and were discharged around 3 am,” said an officer.
