Governor of Maharashtra K Sankaranarayanan, on Saturday, released a commemorative postage stamp in honour of well-known business leader, the late Aditya Vikram Birla, at a function held at the Raj Bhavan.

"Although belatedly, I am happy that we are honouring one of the greatest pioneering business leaders of India in a befitting manner," said the governor while releasing the stamp.
Calling the late Aditya Vikram Birla (1943-1995) a silent business revolutionary, Sankaranarayanan said, "In the life of late Shri Aditya Vikram Birla, we find a beautiful confluence of tradition and modernity. He struck a fine balance between the traditional and time-tested business values that he had inherited from his illustrious grandfather the late Shri GD. Birla and the modern management practices that he imbibed as a young entrepreneur."
"The late Aditya Vikram Birla was not just a visionary business leader, he was a great human being. A man of fine tastes, he was an artist, art lover and a patron of the arts," he said.
