Senior police inspector Prakash Landge said, "He has been sent to a children’s home at Dongri because he is a minor."

"The incident took place on November 5 when the 14-year-old went to his sister’s house. The girl’s parents were away at work and her elder brother had gone to school," said an officer from Mulund police station.

"At 2.30pm, when the brother returned home, he heard her cry for help. He rushed to a window and saw the accused forcing himself on the girl. He started banging the door... but the accused managed to flee. Medical examination of the victim confirmed that she was sexually assaulted."
