Two drug peddlers arrested in separate raids

The peddlers were identified as Saroja alias Noorjahan Koshti alias Dubaiwali, an elderly woman, from Ghatkopar and Obina Jackson Naberala, 34, a Nigerian national, from Bandra.

According to the ANC officers, Dubaiwali was arrested with 30 gm of brown sugar in a raid conducted in South Mumbai.

Acting on a tip-off, the officers nabbed Dubaiwali on a footpath on P D’Mello Road near Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) while she was waiting for a customer. She has been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.

“We are now investigating whether Dubaiwali is a big or a small peddler. We are also tracing down the person from whom she procured the drugs,” said an ANC official.

Later in the night, the Bandra unit of ANC arrested Naberala with 110 gm of cocaine worth Rs 4.40 lakh while he was on Perry Road in Bandra (West).

On Tuesday, the ANC had arrested five employees, including an assistant general manager, of a call centre located at Malad. The accused identified as Donald Anyal, Andrewds Remidis, Winston Victor, Suprotip Mukerjee and Dayanand Nair were arrested from a flat in Malvani following a tip-off.

According to ANC sources, when they raided the house the five men, all in their 20s, were allegedly consuming drugs and listening to trance music.
