Two held for blackmailing teen with MMS clip

Tilak Nagar police on Tuesday arrested two boys on charges of rape and extortion after they allegedly spiked their 17-year-old friend’s drinks, took pictures of her in the nude with their cellphones and blackmailed her for money.

The accused--Inayat Khan (20) and Dhanraj Nadar (19)—are Class 12 students and are residents of Tilak Nagar colony. Nadar’s father is a vada pav vendor. Khan’s father runs a tyre business. “The accused have confessed to the crime,” said Senior Inspector Ramesh Gavit.

The police said the victim, also a class 12 student, knew the accused for two years and that Khan was her boyfriend. The victim alleged that on November 23, Khan asked her to accompany him to Nadar’s place to study. A third person was present at Nadar’s place, the victim said.

The first information report states that Nadar offered the girl a cold drink after which she started feeling dizzy and fell unconscious. The victim realised she had been molested after coming out of the room later. Afraid, she kept mum.

The victim confided in her parents and a complaint was lodged. The police are looking for the third accused and are investigating whether the photographs have been circulated.

“The two accused would often tease girls in the area,” said Assistant Police Inspector P Ganame. “The victim’s relative had recently beaten up Khan for misbehaving with a girl.”
