University suspends one permanent employee, dismisses 3 temporary ones

While Premchand Kamble was a permanent employee in the statistics department, Paresh Tendulkar, Vikas Ujjainwala and Bharat Singh were temporary employees at the examination house.

It is not yet clear if the university will take action against any of the students accused of leaking papers. The police report is yet to be officially submitted to the university.

“When we receive the report we will take appropriate action and punish the guilty as per the provisions of law,” said vice chancellor Rajan Welukar at a press conference on Tuesday evening. Welukar did not say if the hiring process would be changed but said an overhaul would take place.

The university did not announce any direct action against the colleges employing some of the accused. The board of examinations is scheduled to meet on June 8. The board will also discuss how to deal with a paper setter whose name has come under the scanner.
