Western suburbs to face water cut for four days

“There will be no water supply in western suburbs and south Mumbai from Monday to Thursday as the BMC will be replacing the Tansa (east) and Tansa (west) water main pipeline with a tunnel from Marol to Ruparel (Mahim),” said an official from the water department of BMC.

“On Tuesday and Thursday, there will be water cuts in areas such as Kalbadevi, CP Tank, Girgaum, Thakurdwar, Mumbai Central, Khetwadi, Tardeo and Babulnath. The entire G ‘north’ and G ‘south’ wards along with Santacruz (east), Bandra-Kurla Complex, Bandra, Khar and Santacruz (west) will face a 25% water cut on all four days,” said the official. There will be 100% water cut on Monday and Wednesday in areas of south Mumbai such as Cuffe Parade, Colaba, Nariman Point, Backbay Reclamation, Fort, Churchgate, Marine Lines and Marine Drive, Malabar Hill, Peddar Road, Carmicheal Road, BD Road and Forjet Street. Areas in south central Mumbai such as Senapati Bapat Marg, Sayani Road, Prabhadevi, Janata Colony, Elphinstone Road, BDD Chawl, parts of Lower Parel, will face a 25% cut from Monday to Thursday.
