Wine bottles found in admaker Nattoji’s car

The Oshiwara police, which collected Nattoji’s blood samples within two hours of his arrest on Sunday, sent it to the FSL at Kalina only on Monday, more than 24 hours into the accident

Oshiwara police, investigating the drink driving case where admaker Indrajit Nattoji, 45, knocked down 62-year-old Bhiku Polekar and his five-year-old grandson Sartak, have found three bottles of wine from Nattoji’s car. But the wine bottles were not opened hence the police have not sent them to Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), said sources.

The Oshiwara police, which collected Nattoji’s blood samples within two hours of his arrest on Sunday, sent it to the FSL at Kalina only on Monday, more than 24 hours into the accident.

Surprisingly, Nattoji’s urine samples have not been collected, said sources.

While it is still not clear to the police the amount of wine Nattoji had consumed, sources said Nattoji had bought wine from a local shop and had consumed it sitting alone in his office at Bangur Nagar in Goregaon (West).

The police have not recorded the statement of the eyewitnesses and those who helped the victims but have called for an RTO inspector and a forensic expert to the police station.

Nattoji will be produced before Andheri’s magistrate court on Wednesday where Oshiwara police are likely to seek an extension of his custody.
