The woman, Nandita, was living with her husband Naval Agarwal, 38, and son Vinayak in Samarpan building located near Broadway Mall on the Western Express Highway.

The incident took place at around 11.15pm, when house help Pavan Mandal, 24, was present in the apartment. Agarwal had left for Varanasi six days ago to meet his parents and to visit a temple there, the police said. It was an inter-caste marriage and police said that Agarwal would never take his wife to family functions.

The police have not found a suicide note on Nandita, or from the house.

On learning about the incident, Mandal informed the police and rushed the bodies to Bhagwati hospital, where both Nandita and Vinayak were declared dead on arrival.
