The Bhayandar police on Saturday arrested a woman and her two daughters in connection with the murder of their cook in May.

Meenal Kirit Zaveri (40) and her daughters in Devchand Society in Bhayandar. She used to run a tiffin service. Zaveri's husband lives and works in Gujarat.
Their cook Mangaram Devashi (24), who had been working for Zaveri since 2003, was rushed to hospital with injuries on his neck. He was declared dead on arrival.
"We got the chemical analysis report last week which indicated that Devashi had been murdered. Acting on this information, we arrested the three," said Police Sub-Inspector Shivshankar More. "It seems that Devashi, whose marriage had been fixed, wanted to leave the job and go back to his hometown in Rajasthan. This did not go down with Zaveri.
Zaveri and her elder daughter have been remanded in police custody until August 24, while her younger daughter has been sent to children's remand home.
