In conjunction with Hindustan Times 'No TV Day' on January 29, the Patanjali Yog Samiti will be conducting free yoga sessions for people across nine centres in the city.

The sessions will be held in the morning and evening across centres in Kandivli, Mulund, Dadar and Borivli, among others. The morning session will last from 6.30 am to 7.30 am, while the evening session will last from 5.30 pm to 7 pm.

"The No TV Day movement is a great initiative, people have become slaves to television now," said Pramodbhai Shah, one of the instructors associated with the Samiti. "Television has many good things, but people are only taken up by its bad aspects."

The Samiti is a Haridwar-based organisation with centres across the country. "Yoga and pranayama are great activities to engage in as they have manifold benefits for the human body," said Shah. "Diseases such as diabetes, blood pressure, obesity can all be tackled through yoga."
