A musical extravaganza

On Day 3 of the HT City Youth Nexus, students performed classic rock songs and great western music at DCAC and Janki Devi Memorial College.

Melody and harmony ruled the third day of the HT City Youth Nexus at Janki Devi Memorial College (JDMC), where the Western Music competition was held. “The performance of all the choirs was very good. We enjoyed it a lot and are looking forward to the final round,” said Swati Bhadwar, a student at JDMC.

Four teams participated in the event and mesmerised the audience with their soulful performances. “I have attended many western music events on the DU circuit earlier and this ranks among the best. I loved the performance by the students of St Stephen’s. Their vocal percussionist was very talented,” said Hitashi Aneja, a student of JDMC. The three teams that will perform in the finals are St Stephen’s, Sri Venkateswara College and Kirori Mal College.

The audience also joined the on-stage fun and performed for DU’s Got Talent. Anshika Goel and Ankita Trivedi sung for the audience while some mouthed dialogues from the movie Sholay.

The third day of HT City Youth Nexus, saw 13 colleges participate in the rock show held at the Delhi College of Arts and Commerce (DCAC). While most of the bands represented colleges, there were some independent bands participating too.

The teams that qualified for the finals are Delhi College of Engineering, Shri Venkateswara College, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, and Kirori Mal College.
