They’re popular for their sophisticated playlist and for recreating songs with a new perspective. Here’s what Delhi-based band, The JukeJoint, has to say about their music :

What sort of music can we expect from you?

We are a three-piece acoustic band that covers hand-picked classic rock songs. We’ve been recreating songs with a different approach - with which our aim is to sound unique and rejuvenating.

GuitarHow did the band form?

We met and started jamming for a competition in August 2009. Since then, we’ve been playing together and have done several acoustic gigs.

Why this name?

If you go back to the roots, Juke Joints used to be the common place in country-side where people came to listen to music and enjoy their leisure time. We liked the name and zeroed-in on it. The prefix "The" is a direct influence from legendary names like The WHO, The Doors, The Beatles and few others.

What, according to you, has been the inspiring song, event and artist for the band?

Shine On You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd

Has the music scene in the Capital changed in the last five years? How and why?

Delhi has become the centre stage of music, because many artists are coming up with their own style and genres of sensible music, and also because of bands getting platforms to perform.

If you could play at any gig in the world, it would be?

The floating stage in Venice as Pink Floyd did during their 1989 tour in Canal di San Marco.
