Whether it has been Rang De Basanti (2006), Taare Zameen Par (2007) or Delhi 6 (2009), ad man and lyricist Prasoon Joshi has been responsible for some of the most popular songs in Bollywood.
Now, after about a year, he has worked his magic on the music of the upcoming film, Break Ke Baad. And the most memorable part of the entire experience, according to him, has been working with Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani, who are the music composers of the film.Second chances
"Working with them was a delightful experience," says Joshi, who admits that he, by choice, only does one or two films
a year. "They are very talented and I didn’t know Vishal sang so well. I think we can work more together. Sometimes with some people, you feel you may not, but with them I feel we will."
Last heard in Sikander (2009), Joshi only chooses films that appeal to him. But in this case, his decision was also a result of his friendship with the producer of the film Kunal Kohli. He has worked with Kohli on Hum Tum (2004), Fanaa (2006) and Thoda Pyar Thoda Magic (2008) in the past. “I experiment a lot with my writing,” says Joshi, “So I need the people, who I am working with, to give me that space and freedom.”

{{/usCountry}}Even though the film’s release has a few weeks to go, Joshi has already begun receiving a good response for his lyrics. “Recently I was at the airport and someone came up to me and read out an entire stanza of a song from Break Ke Baad,” he recalls.
When asked what he credits as his secret of creating good work, he says, “Writing lyrics is not just work for me. I really want to say something through my songs. I use them as a medium of communication, it’s not just a collection of words for me.”
