Chances are that you’ve seen ‘desi’ guy Raghav in one of his music videos a few years ago when music channels actually played pop music.

After making it to the top ten in the UK singles charts for his independent songs, ‘It can’t be right.,..’ and ‘So confused…’ from his debut album Storyteller (2004), the Indo-Canadian singer is gearing up for his Bollywood debut.

Raghav will be crooning a song in Sagar Bellary’s soon-to-be-released movie Hum Tum Shabana.

“I always knew I was going to be here but waited for the right song to come my way,” he says.

The catchy Indo-Western track, ‘Hey na Shabana…’, believes Raghav who is in India to shoot the video, is the perfect launch pad since it is not a typical Bollywood song.

Sachin-Jigar of Faltu fame has composed the music for this Tusshar Kapoor-Shreyas Talpade-Minissha Lamba starrer.

Says Raghav, “Sachin and Jigar are amazing composers and we bouncing ideas off each other.”

Raghav is certain that he is here to stay.

“I want to pursue two parallel careers, independent as well as in Bollywood, along the lines of Enrique Iglesias who balances an English and Latino pop career brilliantly,” he asserts, admitting that he is disheartened by the demise of Indi pop.

“New talent now can only look to Bollywood to get famous.”
