Indian-origin ‘Idol’ contestant found singing in subway

Sanjaya Malakar, the Indian origin singer who was a contestant on the sixth season of 'American Idol', was photographed performing at a New York subway station recently.

Sanjaya Malakar, the Indian origin singer who was a contestant on the sixth season of American Idol, was photographed performing at a New York subway station.

The photo showed the 23-year-old singer, along with a few other musicians, singing inside the First Avenue L station, reported In Touch Weekly.

“He was singing ‘(Sittin’ on) the Dock of the Bay’,” an eyewitness said.

He’s still got folks doing “double takes”, the eyewitness added.

“The guy’s still a decent singer!” they said.
