Khayyam selected for Lata Mangeshkar Award

Noted music director Khayyam has been selected for Maharashtra government's Lata Mangeshkar Award for 2007.

Noted music director Khayyam has been selected for Maharashtra government's Lata Mangeshkar Award for 2007. The award carries Rs one lakh, citation and a memento and would be presented to 80-year old Khayyam at Delhi in September, Cultural Affairs Minister Ashok Chavan told reporters here.

The award is presented by the state government on Lata Mangeshkar's birthday to those having excelled in music and singing.
