For music lovers, there’s even more reason to rejoice. Besides the Bacardi NH7 Weekender 2012 festival (to be held in Pune, Delhi and Bangalore) inching closer, there’s more good news. On Saturday, Vijay Nair, CEO of Only Much Louder (OML; the organisers of the fest) revealed that in March 2013, Norah Jones will perform in Mumbai for the first time.

The Grammy Award-winning singer will croon at a new festival — A Summer’s Day. It’s a one-day event (as plans presently stand) that will be “designed for women”. “We’ve had the idea for a while. At least 50 per cent of the tickets at NH7 Weekender are bought by women, so we wanted to do something like this for them,” says Nair, adding, “We’re planning something simple. However, from the stage to the entrance to the food served, there’s going to be great attention to detail. Of course, this does not mean that we’re not going to let men enter.” As of now, the event is set to take place on March 3 (Sunday) next year. “We’re still looking at a few venues in Mumbai,” he adds. Ask him what else the city can expect from that line-up and he says, “There’s more. We’ll reveal more after the first NH7 Weekender fest is over.”
