A new single that released on August 12 features veteran flautist Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia and singer Shaan’s younger son Shubh. The song is an instrumental rendition of the patriotic track ‘Saare jahaan se accha’. While Pt Chaurasia has played the track on a flute, 11-year-old Shubh has sung a couple of lines in it.

“It’s a beautiful rendition by Panditji. When Shameer Tandon (composer) heard Shubh sing for a digital film a few months ago, he was so impressed with him that he wanted to get him on board for a project. When he thought of making this track, he called Shaan and asked him if Shubh would sing a couple of lines in it. It was great exposure for our son. We are proud of him,” says Radhika Mukherji, Shaan’s wife.

The video of the track was shot in Bhubaneswar (Odisha). “Panditji pampered Shubh a lot. He would talk to him in Bengali and give him chocolates. Shaan also helped during the recording. He was strict with Shubh,” she says.
