A Russian opera star Ekaterina Sementchuk, will sing at the marriage of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, the Mariinsky theatre in Saint Petersburg said on Thursday.

The mezzo-soprano will sing the Orthodox cantata or creed "an article of faith" during the blessing ceremony to be held in St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle, said theatre spokeswoman Oksana Tokranova.
This cantata by Russian religious composer Alexander Gretchaninov (1864-1956) is one of Prince Charles's favourite pieces of music, Tokranova said.
The royal wedding has provoked controversy with Prince Charles mother, Queen Elizabeth II, saying she will not attend the civil ceremony in deference to couple's wishes for a "low-key" event. However she will be present afterwards for the blessing in St George's Chapel.
