The Shillong Chamber Choir are excited about their first performnace in Mumbai. Soam Jagtiani, director of Indigo Live, is managing their performances across the country. He says, “It’s important to expose the choir to the right audience.”
“Mr Neil Nongkynrih is the source of inspiration for the choir. It was he who initialised this entire concept,” says Bamon Lyndem, one of the members and production manager of the choir.
The choir has performed for many dignitaries. “Performing for Barack Obama and his family (in India last year) was a God gift. We follow a saying that we should sing with the same amount of passion whether we perform for a small group or for the most powerful man in the world”, says Bamon. The choir has also performed for the former President of India, Abdul Kalam in 2005 as well as the current President, Smt. Pratibha Patil. Shillong Chamber Choir will perform on April 7, at Shanmukhananda Hall, Sion at 8 pm.
