You’d expect club czar Bob Sinclar to be a spoilt brat. But just like his beats, the French lad amazes you with every single word he drops. “No alcohol for me. Even when I was 18 and started playing at clubs where my friends would drink themselves silly, I used to stay away from alcohol. Music is my drug,” he said with a smile.

Sinclar, who brought the house down at Saket’s Hard Rock Café last night, says he’d been longing to spin in India. “India was on my mind for the last 4 years. It’s great to be here now because the electronic music scene is experiencing a boom,” he said.

Known for his edgy house mixes, Sinclar’s latest album, Made in Jamaica, features Shaggy. “It was great to work with Shaggy on I Wanna. I’m not too fond of reggae, but mega producers Sly & Robbie welcomed me into Jamaica with a lot of love. They treated me like a child,” he said.

The album, which features new mixes of some of Sinclar’s hottest hits such as Love Generation and Kiss My Eyes, was like a “side project, with my songs been given a fresh twist”, he said.
