Senior BJP leader and Union minister Nitin Gadkari said : “Party president has set up a committee, which will go there and study the situation. Such a migration is not good for democracy...”

BJP president Amit Shah also referred to it as a serious incident and said unless people wake up, such incidents can see repetitions at other places also. “So it is important you act against the state government by voting it out of power which has failed to address the issue,” he said.

Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav said the saffron party was raising issues like exodus of Hindu families from Kairana as it was left with no issue in the wake of development works carried out by Samajwadi Party government in the state.
