NEW DELHI: Personnel of the central and state police forces will be paid additional money for polling duty, the election commission announced on Thursday. Central and state police forces are deployed during elections to maintain peace, in insurgency-affected areas, difficult terrain, or in place that face multiple threats. The honorarium ranging from a minimum amount of Rs 2,500 for officers, Rs 2,000 for subordinate officers and Rs 1,500 for other ranks for any election duty spanning 15 days or less.
