HAJIPUR: Police have booked Bihar Class 12 toppers’ scandal accused Amit Kumar alias Bachcha Rai under the Arms Act after a 9mm country-made pistol and five live cartridges were recovered from his residence-cum-office on Sunday.

Rai, who is the principal of Bihar’s VR College, has been in police custody since last week, and already faces charges of manipulation of results and tampering of answer sheets.
Rai was arrested from near the college premises on June 11 in connection with the scam involving several students of his college, including Arts and Science Class 12 toppers of Bihar School Education Board( BSEB) Ruby Rai and Saurabh Shresth, respectively.
In Sunday’s raid at Kiratpur village, the SIT seized Rs 65,000, computer hard discs, blank admit cards and other documents that indicate severe irregularities in the way exams were being conducted. The raid lasted over nine hours.
