JAUNPUR (UP)/MAU: In another jolt to BSP chief Mayawati, former MLA and Brahmin leader Ravindra Nath Tripathi quit the party on Saturday, alleging she has been“blinded by greed for money ”.

Tripathi alleged Mayawati has deviated from the mission of BR Ambedkar and party founder Kanshi Ram and the BSP had become “a party of mafia, goons and capitalists” where internal democracy does not exist anymore.
Tripathi, who was MLA from Barsathi constituency, said he would meet his supporters soon to decide the future course of action.
Meanwhile, urging people to uproot the Samajwadi Party government in the upcoming assembly election, BJP chief Amit Shah termed the SP and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) as ‘Rahu’ and ‘Ketu’ (inauspicious) for the state as “development had stopped here ”.
