NEW DELHI: The CBI has registered a case against five Northern Railway officials for alleged irregularities related to payments worth Rs 2.94 crore to suppliers

NEW DELHI: The CBI has registered a case against five Northern Railway officials for alleged irregularities related to payments worth Rs 2.94 crore to suppliers for non-existent purchase of anti-cancer medicines during 2012-14 by a government hospital. The payments against the fraudulent anti-cancer medicine purchases, which caused a corresponding loss to the exchequer, were made during 2012 to 2014 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, according to CBI’s FIR.
