PATNA: A crime syndicate in Asarganj block of Munger district, 125 km south east of Patna, stunned bankers when it recently sought ‘non-refundable remittance’ of Rs10 lakh each from the UCO and the Grameen banks. The reason for it was equally baffling. The Crime Organisation of Asarganj Region, which purportedly wrote to the respective branch managers, said it was to strengthen the organisation’s crime network in the region.
