PURNIA: A district hospital in northeast Bihar witnessed a ruckus for hours on Thursday after the health facility goofed up by handing over the body of a dead infant to the parents of a surviving newly-born. For the other couple who was given the surviving child, the joy was short-lived. The hospital staff admitted to “gross negligence” and told the parents their child had died in the NICU. Civil surgeon MM Wasim said, “It was just a human error, which was rectified within hours.”
