AMRITSAR: Eight children were killed and 15 injured when their school van fell into a drain at Muhawa village, 35km from Amritsar, on Tuesday afternoon. The van was taking students back home from DAV Public School, Neshta, when the accident occurred at 1.30pm. The children were aged between seven and 14 years old. Van driver Charanjit Singh, who was allegedly speeding, broke open a window and fled after the accident.
