According to sources the committee has also indicted 10 to 12 other senior leaders for attempts to create communal trouble. In its 13-page report, the committee has found that criminal acts had been given a communal tinge and there was a conspiracy to create trouble in Uttar Pradesh.

The committee has also recommended invoking of National Security Act (NSA) against those who have delivered communal speeches and suggested setting up of a special cell to check rumour mongering through social media. It has also recommended a complete ban on some Whatsapp groups.

Meanwhile, the UP government had sent the five-member committee to probe BJP MP Hukum Singh’s allegations that about 350 Hindu families had left the town following threats of Muslim gangs. The seers committee comprises Pramod Krishnam, Swami Chakrapani, Swami Chinmayanand, Swami Kalyandev and Swami Devendranand.

Sources said the committee has recommended adequate compensation and jobs to the families of those killed in Kairana.

It also noted that no Hindu families had claimed that their members had left the town due to f ear of Muslims. It also found that about 160 Muslim families had left Kairana in the past few years. Nearly 1800 persons from other places had also settled in Kairana in the past three years.
