TIRUPATI: Cash offerings, made in the temple ‘hundi’ by devotees at the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara near here, have totalled a record Rs 20.24 crore in the past eight days of the ongoing Navaratri Brahmotsavam festivities, a temple official said. The hill temple PRO Talari Ravi said this year hundi (offering box) cash collection was Rs 4 crore more than last year during the same period. Gold, silver and other precious offerings have not been included in it, he said.
