Taj Mahal on list of 100 model sites to be cleaned up

NEW DELHI: The government has decided to launch a special clean-up drive at 100 sites that it will identify as ‘iconic places’ as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission.

NEW DELHI: The government has decided to launch a special clean-up drive at 100 sites that it will identify as ‘iconic places’ as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission. The first list of 10 includes heritage sites such as the Taj Mahal, Vaishno Devi temple, Golden Temple, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, Ajmer Dargah and the Tirupati temple. The ministry of drinking water and sanitation will be the coordinating agency for the initiative with the ministries of urban development, culture, tourism and the governments of states where the sites are located.
