5-yr-old raped in Greater Noida, accused arrested

A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Jarcha area of Greater Noida on Wednesday evening. The accused, identified as Narender, was arrested from the nearby jungles on Thursday evening when he tried to escape.

A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped in Jarcha area of Greater Noida on Wednesday evening. The accused, identified as Narender, was arrested from the nearby jungles on Thursday evening when he tried to escape.

According to the police, Narender is a history-sheeter and has more than 15 serious criminal cases against him, including murder and attempt to murder. He was released from jail only five months ago after 10 years of imprisonment and was residing in Jarcha area.

“The victim was playing outside her residence on Wednesday afternoon when Narender lured her with chocolates and took her to his rented accommodation and sexually assaulted her. He then fled from the spot leaving the girl crying for help. The victim then went back home and narrated the incident to her parents,” Anurag Singh, deputy superintendent of police-Greater Noida, said.
