The police said the Delhi woman, Anita Vij, was a common link between Paras Jain and the Ghaziabad couple who ‘transported’ the kidnapped boy to her hours after his kidnapping.

Police said kidnappers Rahul and Sunil picked up the boy and walked through construction sites near Nauraspur and reached the main Loni Road from where they boarded an auto to the Loni-Delhi border.

After reaching a roundabout near the border, they called up Chandvir Singh and his wife Poonam -- the couple-- who arrived in a cab. Singh is employed with a cab aggregator.

All the persons drove towards Tulsi Niketan in Ghaziabad where Rahul and Sunil got down.

“The couple told Rahul and Sunil to wait till they returned with the money. Both waited for more than two hours at the spot. Meanwhile, the couple drove in the cab to Patparganj where they handed over the child to Anita. She called up Jain who arrived with the money and took the child,” said Rakesh Kumar Pandey, SP (rural).

“Once Jain got the boy, he arranged for a party on Sunday night at his house and invited relatives. The boy was given new clothes and the family clicked pictures. Jain has told us his family wanted a new name for the boy. Their joy was short-lived as police teams reached Anita’s residence late Sunday night,” Pandey added.

After being paid Rs 3 lakh, the Ghaziabad couple returned to Tulsi Niketan where they kept Rs 30,000 of the Rs 75,000 allegedly paid to them by Anita. Rahul and Sunil fled thereafter.
