Delhi resident crushed to death by dumper on Noida expressway

Ajay Singh (32), a resident of Sadiq Nagar in New Delhi, was employed with a private company in Noida’s Sector 3. On Wednesday afternoon, he was heading towards his office on his bike from his residence in Delhi when he was hit by a speeding dumper on the expressway.

A Delhi resident died on Wednesday afternoon in a road accident on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway near Sector 15A when a speeding dumper rammed his bike from the rear, the police said.

Ajay was riding his bike on the expressway when he was hit by a speeding dumper from the rear around 1pm.

“Ajay was riding his bike on the expressway when he was hit by a speeding dumper from the rear around 1pm. The driver fled the spot after the accident,” said Anil Kumar Shai, station house officer, Sector 20 police station.

A Police Control Room (PCR) van reached the spot 10 minutes later after a passerby had informed the police about the accident. According to few eyewitnesses, the dumper ran over Ajay’s head, grievously injuring him and crushing him.

The police are now trying to track the driver of the dumper who is missing since the incident. “A case of rash driving has been registered against the driver. An investigation is going on and we are trying to nab the driver by using the dumper’s registration number,” said Shai.
