Plan for seamless access to Sector 50 metro station in Noida finalised

IUT works under the ministry of urban development, Government of India.

On Wednesday, IUT gave a detailed presentation to the Noida authority and the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) officials in the authority’s Sector 6 administrative office.

Saumya Srivastava, the deputy chief executive officer of the Noida authority, said, “Today (on Wednesday), we finalised a plan that will guide us on connecting the Sector 50 Metro station with nearby residential areas, roads, foot overbridges, parking lots and other facilities. The plan is to ensure that all kinds of metro users — motorists, cyclists or pedestrians — do not face any inconvenience in using the service. Nobody will have to walk more than 100 metres to board a metro,” Srivastava said.

“IUT will prepare a connectivity plan for each metro station on this section so that nearby areas get seamless connectivity. We have finalised the connectivity plan for Sector 50 Metro station. In the next six to seven days, the IUT will finalise the connectivity plan for the metro stations at sectors 51 and 71,” a Noida authority official said.

The Noida authority and the NMRC had roped in IUT for the job. The Noida authority and the NMRC officials are working in coordination with IUT to ensure that each station is connected to all facilities in the vicinity.

“For example, if a person wants to park his car or two-wheeler and board the metro, he/she should be able to do so within a 100-metre range of the metro station. At any of the 21 metro stations, commuters will not walk more than 50-60 metres to board the metro train. We are planning the connectivity in such a manner,” an official said.
