Resolve Kaushambi civic woes in 5 months: HC

The move comes after the Kaushambi Apartments Residents’ Welfare Association moved the high court over the local authorities’ laxity over civic issues.

The courts has given the civic authorities three weeks to remove encroachments and five months to install a sewage pumping station.

According to VK Mittal, the petitioner and president of KARWA, the civic bodies had asked the court for 18 months to complete the tasks, which was rejected. “The court also directed the district magistrate to ensure that the authorities complied with the orders. We are looking forward to substantial changes and action,” Mittal said.

Earlier on July 7, the court had pulled up the vice-chairman of the GDA and the Ghaziabad municipal commissioner for not submitting a satisfactory reply to the petition filed by KARWA.
