Three persons died and one suffered critical injuries when their car collided with a private bus coming from the opposite side near Morta on Meerut Road in Ghaziabad on Thursday evening.

Three injured were declared dead at the government hospital in Ghaziabad, officials said.
The incident took place around 6pm when the Swift car was heading from Meerut towards Ghaziabad and the driver lost balance. The car skidded, jumped over the low dividers and hit a private bus coming from the opposite direction on the other side of the road.
“It was a near head-on collision with the bus. The car driver lost control and four persons were badly injured. Three of them succumbed in hospital while the fourth was referred to Delhi. He is in a critical state. We are yet to identify the victims and the injured. However, we received some calls from Ambala and Andhra Pradesh, inquiring about the victims,” said Pawan Kumar, circle officer (Murad Nagar).
Due to the impact of the collision, the car was completely damaged. The front portion of the bus was also damaged.

The incident took place near Manan Dham temple, Morta. The area is frequently used by pedestrians and wrong lane driving is rampant.
The central verge is low and damaged on the stretch. In the absence of a properly constructed divider, the chances of speeding vehicles hitting them are high on the stretch.
