The injured persons, identified as Uttoron Barbora, from Assam, and Merio Mozhui and Wati Jungba, both from Nagaland, were travelling in an i20 car around 8am in Greater Noida when they reached Domino’s roundabout in Gamma 1.

According to police, the car lost balance when it took a steep right turn at a high speed at the roundabout and somersaulted inside the roundabout park.

“Merio was driving the car while Wati was sitting on the passenger seat. Uttoron was sitting on one of the rear seats. The speeding car lost balance and flipped over, causing damage to the right side of the car. As soon as we received information about the accident, a team was sent to the spot to rescue the victims. They were rushed to the Kailash Hospital in Kasna for medical treatment. Uttoron and Merio were then referred to the intensive care unit (ICU) at the Kailash Hospital in Noida’s Sector 27,” Azaad Singh Tomar, station house officer, Kasna Police station, said.

According to Taddo, an acquaintance of the three, Wati had come to Greater Noida to meet his friends.

“All three are friends and Wati had come two days ago to Greater Noida from Pune to stay at Merio’s place. They had gone out for a long drive in an i20 car belonging to Merio’s cousin. We got to know about the accident around 9am,” Taddo said.

According to doctors, Merio and Uttoron are critical. Wati was discharged from the Kailash Hospital in Kasna after being treated for minor injuries.

“Uttoron and Merio are extremely critical and are on life support. They are under constant observation in the ICU. Both of them have received severe injuries on their head due to the impact. We have initiated a surgery for Uttoron’s brain injury,” a spokesperson at the hospital said.
