The authority has written to the state director general of police (DGP), Aligarh zone inspector general of police (IGP), Aligarh district magistrate (DM) and Aligarh senior superintendent of police (SSP).

Many homebuyers are cheated at the hands of such builders whose advertisements give an impression that the plot scheme has been launched by a government authority.

In this case, the developer ‘Yamuna Expressway Avasiya Bhukhand’ has illegally launched a plot and flat scheme on agricultural land illegally in Tappal area of Aligarh district that falls along the Yamuna Expressway. However, no builder can launch such schemes without the approval of Yeida that has control over around 2.5 lakh hectares of land notified for urbanisation.

On May 5,the authority had written to the Aligarh SSP for filing an FIR. However, on May 14 the developer again advertised in newspapers for plots giving an impression that Yeida has come up with the scheme.

He has also written to the Aligarh SSP for filing an FIR.

“However, the developer is still advertising in newspapers. Therefore, I have requested for effective action against the developer so that he stops the promotions. We are identifying other such developers selling plots illegally along the Yamuna Expressway,” said Singh.

The developer was not available for comment.

“In the past, many buyers have been cheated by such advertisements. Therefore, we appeal to people not to invest in this plot scheme,” said another YEIDA official.
