In the capital for an award ceremony, Anand emphasised on the importance of defending the chess title against the local hero, Veselin Topalov. “2009 has not been a good year for me but I am hoping that things change at the World Chess Championship.”
“Nelsen (Peter Heine) is a team member but I cannot give you any more names or details,” he added.
To a point that his loss in form was a deliberate attempt to peak at the Championships, he said, "Give credit to my opponents. I did not underplay in any of the games.
