I may be down, but not out, says Vijender

Olympic bronze-medallist Vijender Singh, who lost in the first round of the World Boxing Championship -the meet that was also the qualifier for the London Olympics -is optimistic about securing an Olympic berth in next year's continental qualifying tournament.

Olympic bronze-medallist Vijender Singh, who lost in the first round of the World Boxing Championship -the meet that was also the qualifier for the London Olympics -is optimistic about securing an Olympic berth in next year's continental qualifying tournament.

"The world meet didn't go well for me, but that is not the end of the road and I still have a chance to qualify for the Games," said Vijender. "The defeat has made me more hungry for the berth. It has also helped me understand which department I am lacking in and where I have to work harder," he added.

"After the Beijing Olympics, expectations have increased and people want a medal from every competition. But it's a game and every time you cannot be a winner.," said the Bhiwani boxer.
