India's numero uno snooker player, Aditya Mehta remained on course to win a gold medal in the ongoing World Games after securing a hard-fought victory against pre-tournament favourite Perry Raymond in the quarterfinals of the quadrennial event at Cali, Columbia.

India's numero uno snooker player, Aditya Mehta remained on course to win a gold medal in the ongoing World Games after securing a hard-fought victory against pre-tournament favourite Perry Raymond in the quarterfinals of the quadrennial event at Cali, Columbia.

Mehta staved off a stiff challenge from the World ranked 19 Perry before beating him 3-2 and book a semifinal berth against Thailand's Dechawat Poomjaeng, who beat another Indian and eight-time world champion Pankaj Advani 3-1.

Jongjit replacement
Indian Badminton League asked franchisee Awadhe Warriors to find a foreign replacement for Thai shuttler Maneepong Jongjit who has been put under investigation by world federation for an on-court brawl with a fellow shuttler in an international tournament last week.

The Thai doubles specialist who is currently ranked world No 13 in men's doubles, has also been handed a three-month ban by the Thailand association.
