Rekha Modi, a cousin of Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, was remanded on Monday to judicial custody by a local court for allegedly obstructing policemen from discharging their duties.

Rekha had complained on Sunday night that her brother Mahabir Modi and sister in law were mentally torturing her in their house and not allowing her to meet her parents, police said.
She had rushed out of her house in Rajendra Nagar locality in tattered clothes and was seen running on the road calling for help with a crowd collecting and throwing stones at the police when they arrived, they said.
Rekha smashed the windshield of a police vehicle and also allegedly abused policemen when she was taken to the Kadamkuan police station, they said.
She was subsequently arrested after an FIR was filed against her for obstructing police in the discharge of their duties.
She was produced in the CJM court on Monday which remanded her to judicial custody till August 6.
