The Park Road house of Girish Kumar, a suspended treasury assistant, was on Saturday confiscated under the provisions of Bihar Special Courts Act 2009.

The special vigilance unit has lodged a DA case against Kumar in 2006 for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, they said.

Earlier, the Bihar government had confiscated the palatial house of suspended IAS officer SS Verma on the outskirts here and opened a school for poor students.

Confiscation proceedings of some more officials including former state drug controller YK Jaiswal, revenue officer Yogendera Prasad Singh, engineer Srikant Prasad, former DFO Bhola Prasad and former DGP Narayan Mishra and former Rajbhasha Parishad director BN Chowdhary, have also been initiated already, they said.

The state vigilance link wing has instituted a total of 87 DA cases under Prevention of Corruption Act, out of which confiscation orders have been issued by the vigilance court in five cases.
