Buoyed by good performance in the Assembly bypolls in Bihar, chief opposition RJD on Friday claimed that the ruling NDA will face a 'complete rout´ in the next year Assembly elections.

"Countdown has begun for the Nitish Kumar government, which is evident from the NDA's poor performance in the Assembly bypolls... NDA is now set to face a complete rout in the assembly elections next year," RJD spokesman Ahmed Khan and general secretary Ramkripal Yadav told reporters in Patna.
In the bypolls to 18 assembly seats, RJD together with LJP won nine seats, while NDA got five and Congress bagged two seats. Besides, one seat went to the BSP and another to an independent.
Accusing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of "misusing official machinery to manipulate" the results for Bagusarai, Chainpur and Dhyuraiya assembly constituencies, they said the party would petition the Election Commission seeking fresh counting.
The RJD leaders also castigated Kumar for allegedly spending lot of money for sprucing up his bungalow in a state, which was facing the twin problems of drought and floods.
